Suncoast Black Arts Collaborative was honored to sponsor the Charles Williams exhibition as our first major sponsorship. Charles Williams is an up and coming contemporary artist who uses his personal encounters, past and present, with the Civil Rights movement in the 1960’s. In the exhibit Williams attempts to strike a balance between both the peaceful and violent protests of the movement and of varied expressions of power. It was our pleasure to sponsor Williams and discuss with him the importance of “staying in the light and staying positive”.
